The official Explore Normandy Pass
- What it is
- A paperless web app used on a phone, from Normandie Tourisme, the regional tourism board (CRT Normandie), launched in 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. A free account gives extra audio and video content at partner sites; the Premium version adds discounts at partner sites, mainly D-Day, Battle of Normandy and medieval sites.
- How it works
- Create an account at explorenormandypass.com and pay EUR 1 per person (incl. VAT) for Premium; one pass per user, and one Premium pass is needed per adult to get discounts. Show the QR code in the web app at the entrance of partner sites for reduced entry or shop prices. Partner discounts are set by each site and are shown only inside the app.

Pass details checked October 28, 2026.
The calculator above shows whether a Normandy pass makes sense for your trip. Tick the sites you plan to see and you get the total adult entry cost. It also tells you whether the official Explore Normandy Pass or a combined ticket brings that total down. Below you find out how the official pass works, which of our 14 sites accept it, and when it pays off.
What the Explore Normandy Pass is
The Explore Normandy Pass is the official pass of Normandie Tourisme, the regional tourism board. The Normandy Region launched it in 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. There is no paper version. You use it on your phone through a web app at explorenormandypass.com.
It comes in two versions. The free version only asks you to create an account with an email address. It unlocks extra content at partner sites, such as audio, video, games and badges. The Premium version adds discounts on entry tickets at paying partner sites. It also gives discounts in the shops of D-Day and Battle of Normandy sites and museums. Premium status is active as soon as you pay.
At the entrance, you show the QR code in the web app. Each adult needs their own Premium pass to get the discounts. Each partner decides its own discount, and the regional board says it is not responsible for those offers. You can only see the discount at each partner inside the app after you log in. The price of Premium is in the official pass box above.
Which of our 14 sites are partners
Eight of the 14 attractions on this site are on the partner list:
- Mémorial de Caen
- Normandy American Cemetery
- Pointe du Hoc
- Utah Beach D-Day Museum
- Juno Beach Centre
- Airborne Museum, Sainte-Mère-Église
- Arromanches D-Day Museum
- Memorial Pegasus
The Normandy American Cemetery and Pointe du Hoc are free to visit. They are on the list for the app content, not for a discount. The ABMC expects compulsory pre-registration for all cemetery visitors from summer 2027. Memorial Pegasus is closed from September 1, 2026, including January to May 2027, and no reopening date has been confirmed.
The other six are not partners. These are Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum (closed until autumn 2027; the Tapestry is at the British Museum in London until July 11, 2027), Monet’s house in Giverny, the Jardins d’Étretat on our Étretat cliffs and gardens page, and Rouen Cathedral. Omaha Beach itself is not a partner, but two museums at Omaha are.
Beyond our 14, the partner list covers many military cemeteries and batteries. It also includes medieval sites such as William the Conqueror’s castle in Falaise, Jumièges Abbey and Château Gaillard. The sources disagree on the size of the partner list. On October 28, 2026, Normandie Tourisme’s partner directory listed 87 sites, while the text on the same page says the discounts apply at more than 70 sites and museums.
How to use the calculator
- Tick each site you expect to visit. Each line shows the adult entry price.
- Read the total. It is in euros, with US dollar and pound sterling equivalents.
- Check the result line. It tells you whether the official pass or a combined ticket would save money on your picks.
Your picks are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device, so they are still there when you return. If you are not sure which sites to choose, start with an itinerary such as Two Days in Bayeux and on the D-Day Beaches or Five Days in Normandy. Then tick the stops it includes.
When the official pass is worth it, and combined tickets
Is the Normandy pass worth it for you? It depends almost entirely on how many paying partner sites you visit. It works best as a D-Day museum pass. Most of the partners on our list are D-Day museums, while Mont-Saint-Michel, Giverny, Étretat and Rouen are outside the scheme. If your trip is mostly the abbey and Monet’s garden, Premium does nothing for those visits. The free version still gives you the app content at partner sites such as the cemetery and Pointe du Hoc. Compare the partner discounts in the official pass box above with what you plan to see.
Some sites also have their own combined tickets and cross-discounts, which work whether or not you hold the pass:
- Bayeux: a combined ticket covers the town’s two open museums and is valid for one year.
- Mont-Saint-Michel: the abbey gives a reduced rate if you show certain other tickets. These include a Paris–Mont-Saint-Michel train ticket used within 5 days and a Brittany Ferries boarding pass. In the village, the four private museums sell a single ticket for all four, on site only.
- Giverny: Monet’s house sells combined tickets on site with the Musée des impressionnismes Giverny and with two Paris museums, the Musée Marmottan Monet and the Musée de l’Orangerie.
- Memorial Pegasus: an adult ticket from the Arromanches D-Day Museum or the Airborne Museum gives a discount there, and the reverse. This matters only once the museum reopens.
- Low-carbon rate: many Normandy sites give a reduction if you arrive by train, coach or bike. If you are traveling without a car, see Normandy Without a Car.
The amounts are on each site’s official pages. There is no single Normandy museum pass that covers everything, so compare the official pass with these combined tickets for your own list.
Independence
My Normandy Pass is an independent guide. It is not affiliated with Normandie Tourisme or the official Explore Normandy Pass. This site does not sell the pass or any tickets, and it does not speak for the tourism board. For the official details and the current partner list, see Normandie Tourisme’s pass page.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Explore Normandy Pass?
It is the official pass of Normandie Tourisme, the regional tourism board. It is paperless and lives in a web app on your phone. There is a free version with extra content at partner sites and a Premium version that adds discounts.
How much does the Premium pass cost?
See the official pass box above for the current price. Each partner sets its own discount, and you can see it inside the app once you are logged in.
Do I need one pass per person?
Yes, for the discounts. One Premium pass covers one user, so each adult in your group needs their own.
Can I use the pass at Mont-Saint-Michel or the Bayeux Tapestry?
No. Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, Monet's house in Giverny, the Jardins d'Étretat and Rouen Cathedral are not on the partner list.
Does the calculator remember my picks?
Yes. Your ticked sites are saved in your browser's local storage on your device, so they are still there when you come back. You can clear them by clearing site data in your browser.
Can I buy the pass on this site?
No. This site does not sell the pass or any tickets. You get the pass by creating an account on the official web app.
